Space Technology in the Future

The goal of space technology is focused on the answer to one question that is, “Are we alone?” We are always fascinated with the future. We always ask, “what’s next?” The future of space technology is one of the notable topics for technology lovers all over the world. For the prediction of space technology, the objective of the current space technology can be divided into two major operations, Terrestrial exploration and Extraterrestrial exploration.

Terrestrial exploration

We, as the general audience of space technology of NASA, European Space Agency (ESA), Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), Canadian Space Agency (CSA), German Aerospace Center (DLR), ROSCOSMOS, and so forth, only experience the space exploration programs but generally, don’t accustom to the operations on the earth. Quiet Supersonic Technology (QueSST), NASA’s X-57 ‘Maxwell’ aircraft, Landsat 9, Surface Water and Ocean Topography (SWOT), Cyclone Global Navigation Satellite System (CYGNSS), 3D Printer, Regolith Advanced Surface Systems Operations Robot (RASSOR), Delay/Disruption Tolerant Networking (DTN), Laser Communications Relay Demonstration (LRCD), Deep Space Optical Communications (DSOC) are the most recent technologies that are being designed or developed by the space agencies for the earth-based applications.

Aircraft in 2120

Shortly, after 100 years from now, the brand-new technological development will seize the current era and the generation from 2120 will comment as 2020 was the start of the revolution that results in the peak of the technology in 2120. For example, in 2120, the aircraft would be more flexible and accessible to the people to quench their thirst for flying. In the movies like Castle in the Sky (1986), Howl’s Moving Castle (2004), the aircraft are shown there seemed so handy and fascinating to the audience. In 2120, the solar energy-based Quiet Supersonic Technology (QueSST) will be introduced and people can go on a hangout via their small aircraft instead of riding a bicycle!

Remote Sensing for earth observation in 2120

The remotely sensed imageries can automatically locate the land use anomalies, human activities based on the GPS and make decisions for the environmental management by artificial intelligence. The weather forecast would be accurate near to 100% with the exact risk assessment from the space for different geographical locations globally. All we need to do is just a single click to see the results within a second.

Technology in 2120

The 3D printer will be accessible to anyone for educational purposes while one can print anything from a simple sketch on a sheet of blank paper. The secured connection from the ground station to the spacecraft would be highly facilitated with LASER technology. The ocean exploration would be enhanced by the supersonic wave rather than the short-range SONAR ping.

Extra-terrestrial exploration

Determination of the theory of everything would be the greatest invention of 2120. The spacecraft would be used to explore the farthest planets and galaxies. The velocity of the spacecraft would be equal to the speed of light and we’ll see the practical incidence of the theory of relativity.

Human Spaceflight

The recent spaceships to the moon and mars will be replaced by the hyperloop from the earth. People may visit the moon and mars as their weekend starts! Moreover, the kids will practice Extravehicular activities and float in the space as their gift from the parents.

Diplomatic Relation with the Aliens

There will be a diplomatic planet to discuss the relationship between the human with the aliens so that they may work together for more advanced technologies in the future. The currency between aliens and humans will be technological knowledge and spacecraft.

Touching the Sun in 2120

The advanced spacecraft will get closer to the sun and land on the surface of the sun to explore the actual properties of the nuclear fusion reaction. The nuclear reactor-based engine will be used in the spacecraft so that we can reach the sun within a minute from the earth.

The future is always unpredictable. The generation in 1920 never expected technological advancement like today and the generation in 2120 won’t believe that they have advanced how far than 2020. They will always ask, “what’s next?”, just like us!
